“Come as you are!”

This is the latest ‘catch phrase’ of the current Christian community. But while we think it is new, it is the same message Jesus conveyed over 2,000 years ago. He not only said it, he practiced what he preached!

The outcast lepers, the widows and orphans, the poor…Jesus said ‘Come as you are!’. His own disciples; lowly fishermen, the hated tax collector, the ‘uneducated’…Jesus said ‘Come as you are!’. Paul, the early Christian persecutor…Jesus said ‘Come as you are!’.

The secular media may try to portray the Christian community as 'exclusionist', but that is far, far from the truth. Here at BCUMC, we follow the example of our Shepherd and invite you to "Come as you are!" But be prepared, for when you come to know Jesus as your personal Savior…."You won't stay as you are!".
